The University of Calabar, UNICAL, Calabar has fixed October 24, 2022, for the commencement of examinations for the 2020/2021 academic session.
Recall that public universities have been on strike since February this year, however, the strike was called off last week and Monday, October 17 was the expected resumption date. Before that, UNICAL students were still on their second-semester exams for the 2020/2021 academic session.
In a statement signed by Mr Gabriel Egbe, Registrar of UNICAL, students are expected to resume school for the 2020/2021 academic session on Monday, October 17, 2022.
The statement stated that the University Senate approved the new resumption day as amended. “The amended academic calendar
covers the second semester of 2020/2021 and the first semester activities for the 2021/2022 sessions”, Egbe said.

It further noted that all other students are expected on campus on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, and will commence lectures on Tuesday, October 25, 2022.
According to the statement, registration for Amnesty/Mop-Up exams will commence from 17th-19th October 2022 and the exams will begin from Thursday, October 24-29th October 2022.
The Registrar called on all categories of staff to be on their duty post as the institution prepares to welcome students back to campus.
“The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Florence Obi welcomes all staff and students back to campus and pray for a fruitful and hitch-free session”, the statement added.
