UNICAL elevates 15 academic staff to professors, assoc. professors

The University of Calabar (UNICAL) has elevated 15 academic staff to professors and associate professors.

This follows the approval by the Governing Council of the University last week.

Disclosing the information to the University Community, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Florence Obi, said 8 Professors and 7 Associate Professors were involved.

Those elevated to the rank of Professors are:

1. Dr Otasowie Daniel Osunde (Oral & Maxilofacial Surgery)
2. Dr Benjamin Udoh (Radiography & Radiological Sciences)
3. Dr Affiong Andem Ibanga (Ophthalmology)
4. Dr Ann Mofunanya (Plant & Ecological Studies)
5. Dr Ogbuagu Ugorji Udensi (Genetics & Biotechnology)
6. Dr Okorie Osonwa (Sociology)
7. Dr David Imbua (Hist & Int Studies)
8. Dr Aniefiok Uko (Crop Science)

The newly promoted Associate Professors include:

1. Dr Chidi John Okafor (Psychiatry)
2. Dr Enembe Oku Okokon (Community Medicne)
3. Dr Stella Esuabana (Guidance & Counselling)
4. Dr Okokon Okon Efiong (Animal Science)
