Valencia, Spain – Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr has issued an apology to fans following his red card during the team’s match against Valencia on Friday.
The Brazilian international was sent off after a heated altercation with Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski, during which he appeared to push the keeper in the head.
His dismissal left Real Madrid with 10 men while trailing 1-0.
Despite the setback, the team managed a stunning comeback, with Luka Modric equalising and Jude Bellingham securing a last-minute winner in the 95th minute.
Taking to social media, the 24-year-old expressed regret over his actions.”Sorry and thanks team!!” he wrote on X.
Vinicius has been a standout performer in La Liga this season, contributing eight goals and seven assists to Real Madrid’s campaign.
The club will now shift focus to their upcoming Copa del Rey match against lower-league Deportivo Minera on Monday, followed by a Supercopa de EspaƱa semi-final against Mallorca.
