Archbishop of Calabar extols sainthood of Bishop Enobong Affiah

The Archbishop of Calabar and Spiritual Leader of God’s Heritage Centres Worldwide, His Eminence, Archbishop Josef Bassey, has spoken glowingly about the life and times of Bishop (Dr) Enobong Affiah, the founding Pastor and Presiding Bishop of Life Covenant Ministries, whose body has been committed to mother earth today.

The Archbishop described the departed as an exemplary hero of faith, a deep lover of God, a passionate worshipper and songwriter, a father of fathers, a pillar of hope, a thorough Pastor and a general in God’s army, a revered senior brother and trusted labourer in whom there was no guile.

His Eminence, in his words, said, “One of the priceless blessings I have had in my life as a Christian has been the privilege of knowing and experiencing the life and ministry of Bishop Affiah. His impact and contributions to the advancement of the kingdom of God in Cross River State, in particular, and the world in general are phenomenal. I worked with Bishop Affiah on very close range, and I can say unequivocally that he lived and departed as a gallant soldier of the Cross with a largely blameless episcopal and personal lifestyle record, worth emulating,” His Eminence surmises.

Adding further, “I can also state that Dr Affiah’s commitment, dedication and passion for ministry was total and highly outstanding in the best of ecclesiastical assessment. If you had him as a pastor, you had a pastor indeed. If you had him as a brother, you had a brother indeed, and if you had him as a friend, then you had a friend indeed.”

Archbishop Josef Bassey, who is also the President of Cross River State Christian Leaders Forum says he is comforted in the fact that the Bishop left behind a virtuous Jesus lady, highly respected and successful minister of the gospel, astute administrator and mother in Israel in the person of his wife, Pastor Eme Affiah among other strong and capable leaders to preserve his legacy and continue in task of advancing the work which God used him to establish.

Speaking also on behalf of the Eniong Abatim Christian Community, the Archbishop said that as an Eniong Abatim Patriarch, he knows the character of Eniong daughters such as Pastor Eme in terms of extraordinary capacity for accomplishments in challenging terrains and times such as widowhood. He prayed for God’s special enablements to rest upon Pastor Eme Affiah and the entire family, assuring that no gate of Hell shall prevail against them in their quest for greater exploits as the scriptures cannot be broken.

It will be recalled that His Lordship, Bishop Dr Enobong Affiah, who has been called to glory at 68, was interred today after a week of obsequies held at the family house, church and the International Conference Centre in Calabar. May the soul of the saint rest in Peace.
