Dr Guoquan Zhang, director of Xiaomi’s mobile system software department, posted on Weibo on Saturday that the Xiaomi 12S series is Xiaomi’s first Leica series mobile phone and has encountered many problems in the process of adapting to ThePaper OS.
But “no matter what, the priority is the highest” and announced to ensure early release.
A screenshot of the Xiaomi community shared by Zhang shows that the “Xiaomi Thermal OS Announcer” also said that among the second batch of development versions, the Xiaomi 12S series has the highest priority.
At the same time, since this series is Xiaomi’s first Leica series, it “pays more attention to it and tests it more cautiously.”
Officials stated that in order to avoid misunderstandings, the testing progress will be further accelerated to ensure that the Xiaomi 12S series is the first model of the second batch of development versions, which is expected to be officially launched in December.

It was reported that the Xiaomi community released the second batch of models of the ThePaper OS development version.
The models mentioned in the official announcement at that time included Xiaomi 12 Pro, Xiaomi 12, Redmi K50 Extreme Edition, and Redmi K50 E-Sports Edition.
As of press time, the announcement has added Xiaomi 12S Ultra, Xiaomi 12S Pro, Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity Edition, as well as Redmi K50 Pro, Redmi K50, and Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4.
