The maiden edition of the Ogoja Carnival was held today, Saturday in Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State.
The carnival, CONVERSEER reports is to give the entire people of Northern Cross River a festival of their own owing to the terrain of the state. It also replaced the NorthFest.
The Ogoja Carnival which started at 2pm saw six bands marched from the Local Government Secretariat through the streets of Ogoja.
The six bands that participated in the Ogoja Carnival at Obanliku Band, Bekwarra Band, Ogoja Band, Yala Band, Obudu Band and Governor’s Band.
Obanliku Band was headed by Ntufam Fidelis Ugbo, Bekwarra Band was headed by Rt. Hon. Legor Idagbo, Ogoja Band was headed by Rt. Hon. Peter Odey (Deputy Governor), Yala Band was headed by Sen. Stephen Odey, Obudu Band was headed by Sen. Ben Ayade and Governor’s Band was headed by Sen. Bassey Otu (Governor).
