The Vice President of Nigeria, VP Kashim Shettima has labelled some Nigerians as clowns, over comments celebrating the Naira free fall against the United States Dollar.

He stated this on Wednesday in Abuja while speaking at a function.

The VP who expressed his dissatisfaction with some Nigerians who took to social media, X (formerly Twitter) to make the comments, said it is disheartening, stressing that they were supposed to join forces with the government.

Shettima in the video shared on YouTube by Symfoni, said: “It is not only disheartening and disenchanting but also heartbreaking that yesterday when the Naira culminated to N1,500 to the dollar, instead of us to coagulate into a single force and salvage our nation economy, sadly, some clowns are celebrating on Twitter of an impending implosion of the Nigerian economy.”
