…Ibatt was a campus journalist until his graduation
On-air personality, OAP and Social Media Influencer, Nsikak Ibatt has emerged as the best-graduating student from the Department of Policy and Administrative Studies, University of Calabar, UNICAL.
Ibatt who graduated with a CPGA of 4.17, Second Class (Upper Division) from the 2020/2021 set, passed out with 10,116 others during the 35th UNICAL Convocation held on Friday.
He said despite everything, he never sorted (gave or took bribes) or cut corners (cheated or carried out malpractice) while at the university.
“Students can still graduate without giving a lecturer a dime. It’s very possible but only stressful,” Ibatt said.
The OAP who anchors UNICAL Radio International 103.5FM, Calabar, said it took the effort and motivation of his parents and siblings for him to graduate.

“My siblings are the major source of motivation to me, these valuable creatures given to me by Jehovah have always gotten my back. I won’t forget the pivotal role my parents – Mr and Mrs Aniekan Ibatt played.
“Today, I’m among the best on merit! And I’m so proud of this,” he said.
Ibatt also stated that his next goal is to learn more to do more, stressing, “To me, learning never stops, I will keep learning and moving to the next step, academically, but for now, I’m celebrating this.”
Ibatt is born into a family of four – two boys and two girls, and hails from Nkim Itam, Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
He was a campus journalist until his graduation and a member of the Student Information Bureau.
CONVERSEER reports that Roland Osaji Takon emerged as the overall best-graduating student with a CGPA of 4.85, First Class, from the Department of History and International Studies, and was awarded a prize of one million naira.
Ruth Andem on the other hand emerged as the overall best-graduating female student with a CGPA of 4.65, First Class, from the Department of English and Literary Studies, UNICAL.
