It was a bloody Thursday when two blood brothers stabbed each other and their mother in Calabar, Cross River State.

The incident, CONVERSEER learned, happened at about 3:00 pm at Etta-Agbor, around U-Jimco Road, an area populated by students and a stone’s throw from the University of Calabar, UNICAL.

According to TheInvestigator, the two brothers, sharing the same biological mother, engaged in a fight which resulted in stabbings.

Though the cause of the feud could not be ascertained, the report which gave an account of an eyewitness, said the younger brother was the first to stab his elder brother who sustained a severe injury on his right ear which was cut off.

In a similar vein, the elder brother stabbed their mother during the altercations amidst the use of charms, described by the eyewitness as “a cow’s leg wrapped with red rope and satanic things by one of the brothers.”

The report said the eldest brother was arrested and cooling off in police custody while the youngest has gone into hiding.

Condemning the act, Mr Anthony Afufu Ogar, Special Assistant to Governor Bassey Edet Otu on Student Orientation, told TheInvestigator that such an action leading to bloodshed need not be tolerated.

He said, “For me, it’s highly condemnable for grown-up men to fight terribly to a point where the older one had to stab his mother from behind and the younger son of the woman who is on the run now cut off the elder brother’s ear.”
