By Frank Ulom

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has taken delivery of palliatives for Cross River State.

The palliatives which were facilitated by Rt. Hon. Orok Duke, Representative of Cross River at the NDDC Board, were received by him on Friday, 19th April 2024, in Calabar.

According to a source, the palliatives are to cushion the devastating effects of flooding and the harsh economic situation on the people of Cross River and to ensure the state is not shortchanged in the allocation of resources and goods within the Commission.

The palliatives to be distributed include bags of rice, bags of beans, sewing machines, toiletries, flip-flops, cartons of tomato pastes, blankets, mattresses, packs of vegetable oils, insecticide nets, and cartons of tea.

Others are wheelbarrows, knapsack sprayers, disinfectants, packs of assorted beverages, toothpaste, insecticides, flashlights, cartons of seasoning cubes, cartons of noodles, bags of salt, among others.
