Gunmen kidnap students from CUSTECH

Unknown gunmen attacked the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, Kogi State, on Thursday, 9th May 2024, at about 8:23pm while some students were gathered for tutorials ahead of their first-semester examinations.

The Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor Abdulrahman Salawu, stated that the exact number of students involved is currently being ascertained.

The State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, has ordered security operatives in the state to go after the kidnappers and assist the affected students.

He assured parents and guardians of the kidnapped students that the government would exhaust all possible means to rescue them.

However, the university management has advised parents who wish to remove their wards from the campus to proceed, as lectures and examinations are currently suspended.
