Adura, Mohbad’s sibling, and a friend detained following Yomi Fabiyi’s complaint

Adura, the younger brother of late Afrobeat musician Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad, and his friend identified as Ibrahim Koleosho aka King White have both been arrested.

Police have confirmed the arrest of the two individuals who were taken away following a court hearing over a phone they sold to a man named Damola Ayinde.

According to reports, Audra was taken into custody by members of Lagos State’s Zone 2 police command on Wednesday, March 19, at the Magistrates’ Court in the Ogba neighborhood.

A police officer (name withheld) verified that the two were detained by Zone 2 Police Command agents after being picked up on Friday, December 13, 2024, in response to a petition submitted by Yoruba actor and activist Yomi Fabiyi.

“Yes, they were arrested by the police operatives from Zone 2, Onikan, not men of the Lagos State Command,” he said.

Fabiyi claimed in his petition that Mohbad’s brother started an Instagram discussion in which he professed to have video proof of Mohbad’s death.

In addition, the actor said that Adura requested the sum of N3 million paid in Bitcoin in return for the video evidence that showed how his brother died.

This development comes two months after Mr. Joseph Aloba, the father of Mohbad, called on the Nigeria Police Force to summon his second son, Adura, and Omawunmi (Mohbad’s baby mama), to provide insights into the death of the late singer.

In a statement, Mr Aloba disclosed that he is demanding the summons due to the recent world press conference organised by Yoruba actor Mr Yomi Fabiyi regarding the alleged video that Adura reportedly sent to him—suspected to be linked to Mohbad’s tragic demise in his home years ago.

According to him, Adura and Omawunmi were in the house when Mohbad passed away, yet they have both refused to speak, likely due to the influence of people whose motives, in this case, remain unclear to him and the whole world.

Mr. Aloba expressed concerns about Adura’s silence, stating that he had refused to speak about the events leading to Mohbad’s de@th despite efforts made to reach out to him.
