Abuja, Nigeria – The All Progressives Congress Northwest Alliance for Good Governance (APC-NWAGG) has condemned what it terms a slanderous attempt to tarnish Defence Minister Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar’s reputation.
According to APC-NWAGG’s Secretary Comrade Auwal Shuaibu Gumel, these accusations—circulated by an unnamed group calling itself the APC Solidarity Vanguard—are baseless, suggesting instead that Badaru’s leadership has been instrumental in improving security across the North.
Gumel stated that the minister has been unwavering in his support for the APC, highlighting Badaru’s mobilisation efforts before the recent elections, which helped secure backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in various northern regions.
He urged residents to reject divisive claims and instead support Badaru and his achievements in advancing regional security.
Ambassador Abdullahi Dalhatu, APC-NWAGG Coordinator, echoed these sentiments, dismissing further claims of betrayal as speculative and aimed at discrediting northern leaders.
Additionally, Jigawa APC Chairman Hon. Aminu Sani Gumel criticised the spread of alleged falsehoods aimed at causing discord within the party.
The APC-NWAGG concluded by reaffirming its support for both Minister Badaru and President Tinubu’s administration, encouraging the public to focus on security advancements achieved under Badaru’s leadership.
