Sen. Ben Ayade

Ogoja, Cross River State – In a recent display of solidarity and commitment to regional development, former Governor Ben Ayade (CON), has sent a heartfelt goodwill message to the Northern Cross River Coalition (NORTHCO).

The coalition, which stands as the apex and umbrella body for the socio-political groups representing the Northern Senatorial District’s five local governments, is set to benefit from the former governor’s extensive experience and influence.

During the address, former Governor Ayade pledged his unwavering support to the initiative aimed at fostering unity, progress, and advancement across the Northern Senatorial District.

“I am committed to doing everything possible at my disposal to help make Northern Cross River State stronger and more united,” he asserted, emphasising the need for a consolidated effort in driving development in the region.

The message of support was conveyed to the coalition’s members by its leader, High Chief Higgins Peters, who expressed gratitude on behalf of NORTHCO.

“The goodwill extended by His Excellency, Senator Professor Ben Ayade is not just a symbolic gesture but a genuine commitment to the progress of our communities,” Peters noted.

The coalition, recognised as the socio-political voice for the northern local governments, welcomed the former governor’s initiative as a boost to its ongoing efforts to stimulate socio-economic development and political unity in the region.

Additionally, Governor Ayade extended his prayers and kind thoughts to the current state administration led by His Excellency Sen. Prince Bassey Otu. While the current leadership continues to steer the state, Ayade’s message highlights a collaborative spirit that bridges past and present administrations, aiming for a more prosperous and integrated future for Cross River State.

This significant gesture from one of the state’s prominent political figures underscores the importance of solidarity among political actors in driving regional transformation.

As the Northern Cross River Coalition continues its endeavours, the support from seasoned leaders like Ayade is expected to further energise the quest for unity and developmental progress in the northern senatorial district.
