BCS Hosts Sports Festival in Calabar to Mark Leader’s Divine Birthday Celebration

Calabar, Nigeria – As part of the 2024 Divine Birthday celebrations of His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS) is sponsoring a Sports Festival in Calabar, Cross River State.

The event, set to take place from Wednesday, November 13 to Friday, November 14 at the U.J. Esuene Stadium, will feature a soccer tournament among secondary schools, table tennis, and other athletic competitions.

According to Patriarch Obioma George, Chairman of the BCS Sports Festival, the tournament serves as a platform to identify and nurture young sporting talent with the potential for professional development.

He emphasised that the event aims to empower young athletes and foster unity through the spirit of sportsmanship.

Secretary of the Festival, Ogarekpe Ekpezu, highlighted that the sports festival includes the participation of several secondary schools from across Cross River State.

Winners of the various events will receive significant prizes, and emerging talents will be identified for further opportunities.

Ogar Osim, Head of BCS Events Management, reiterated the leader’s commitment to sports development, describing His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu as a steadfast supporter of sports and youth empowerment.

The week-long Divine Birthday celebration, scheduled for November 20, 2024, is expected to draw attendees from around the world to Calabar for both spiritual and humanitarian events.
