Idemili South, Anambra State — It was an extravagant display of affluence at the weekend as Chief Dr Ugonna Osinachi Cliff Orabuchi, the CEO of Teka Group LTD and popularly known as “Panteka,” laid his father-in-law, Nze Mathias Nwafor Uzo Orakwute, to rest in a premium copper casket valued at over N130 million.
Orakwute, who passed away recently at the age of 72, was celebrated in a ceremony attended by top dignitaries and notable figures from Igboland.
The elaborate casket, reportedly crafted with a copper mirror finish, featured a luxurious white velvet interior and a full couch with a foot panel, marking it as one of the premium offerings by Apams.
Sources indicated that the billionaire had shared a close bond with his father-in-law, honouring his legacy by investing in the finest materials and craftsmanship to bid him farewell.
Orabuchi’s generosity extended well beyond this final tribute, as he had built his father-in-law a lavish residence during his lifetime and extended support to family and friends.
Copper, renowned for its durability and slow oxidation, is regarded as a prestigious choice for casket material, symbolising both the longevity and cherished memories of the deceased.
The choice reflects not only Orabuchi’s wealth but also the respect and care he held for his late father-in-law, with whom he shared a significant connection.
The burial attracted a host of prominent personalities, including influential leaders, businessmen, and representatives from various Igbo social clubs, who gathered to pay their respects.
The event, held in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area, was marked by a significant turnout, reinforcing Orabuchi’s high standing and respect within the community.
