Brandon Council Who Was Sentenced to Death Demands Release From Prison

South Carolina, U.S. – Brandon Council who had his death sentence commuted by President Biden is now demanding he be released from prison.

Converseer reports that Council was sentenced to death after killing two bank employees in 2017.

Council says he is the victim of “psychological harm” and is demanding a “compassionate release.”

“The petitioner’s subjection to torture is the subsequent result of the petitioner’s sentence to death, however, the additional punishment of solitary confinement which is the cause of the psychological harm is in no manner statutorily authorised, mandated, or required by the petitioner’s sentence to death,” his motion reads.

Council was sentenced to death in 2019 (video below) after killing 36-year-old Katie Skeen and 59-year-old Donna Major, in Conway, South Carolina during an armed bank robbery.
