Calabar, Cross River State – The Chief Whip of the Cross River State House of Assembly and representative for Boki II State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Hilary Bisong, has extended his warm congratulations to Mrs Beatrice Nyiam on her recent electoral success as Chairman of Boki Local Government Area (LGA).
The election, held as part of the state’s local government polls, concluded with a peaceful process, and the official inauguration took place at the Governor’s Office in Calabar.
Commending Mrs Nyiam’s leadership abilities, Bisong praised her as an inspiring figure for the Boki community. “Mrs Nyiam possesses the leadership qualities essential to drive Boki’s development forward. I am confident in her capacity to deliver on the promises made to her constituents,” said Bisong.
The ceremony, marking the installation of only the second female chairman in Boki’s history, brought together local dignitaries, including the first female Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Obi.
The Chief Whip expressed appreciation for the peaceful and orderly conduct of the elections and lauded the active engagement of Boki’s citizens.
In addition to congratulating Mrs Nyiam, Bisong also extended his felicitations to the newly elected Vice Chairman and Councillors, emphasising the importance of a collaborative approach to governance.
Mrs Nyiam and other elected officials received Certificates of Return during the inauguration, signifying their official entry into office and marking a new chapter in Boki LGA’s leadership.
