Yuletide: Cross River Suspends All Traffic Enforcement Activities for 3 Weeks

Calabar, Nigeria – The Government of Cross River State has suspended all traffic enforcement activities for the yuletide across the state.

Converseer learned that the suspension which is for three weeks spans from 23rd December 2024 to 13th January 2025.

According to a press release signed by Commander Bassey Okokon, Public Relations Officer of the Traffic Management and Regulatory Agency (TRAMRA), on Monday, the initiative is to accommodate the influx of visitors visiting the state during the festive season, particularly the Carnival.

The release read: “In alignment with His Excellency’s mantra of ‘The People First,’ the Director General of the Cross River State Traffic Management and Regulatory Agency has announced the temporary suspension of all traffic enforcement activities across the state.

“This suspension will take effect from December 23, 2024, and remain in place until January 13, 2025.

“This initiative aims to honour and accommodate the influx of visitors anticipated in the state during the festive season, particularly for the famous Carnival and other Christmas activities.

“As we celebrate and welcome guests from near and far, this decision reflects our commitment to creating a warm and enjoyable atmosphere for all.

“The Director General urges all citizens and visitors to observe road safety protocols during this period, while also taking advantage of the vibrant festivities that will unfold throughout the state.

“We appreciate the cooperation of all stakeholders and wish everyone a joyous and safe holiday season.”
