Dan Obo emerges NYCN Vice President South South

CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – Chief Dan Obo has been elected as the Vice President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), South South.

Obo, former NYCN Chairman in Cross River State, was elected alongside 25 others during the Emergency National Management Meeting held on the 13th June 2025 in Abuja.

According to a communique issued by the National Executive Council (NEC) of the NYCN on 18th June, Comrade Solomon Adodo was elected as NYCN President, while Comrade Abdulrahman Bala was elected as NYCN Secretary General.

The communique, electronically signed by Adodo and Bala, also stated that Comrade Rikki Nwajiofor was elected NYCN Deputy President while Comrade Akoshile Muhktar, Comrade Dauda Muhammad Gombe, Comrade Mu’ammar Gaddafi, Comrade Nnonyelu Williams and Amb. Bright Eniafe Ojo, were elected Vice Presidents of North Central, North East, North West, South East and South West.

“This team comprises tested, passionate, and youth-driven patriots committed to promoting youth inclusion, national development, and good governance. The new leadership is duly recognised and supported by the vast majority of stakeholders across all six geo-political zones,” part of the communique stated.

Converseer reports that Comrade Obo is currently serving as the Special Adviser to Governor Bassey Otu on Youths Mobilisation.
