Dr Alalibo assumes office as new Cross River INEC REC

...takes over from Prof. Gabriel Yomere, who served in the state for three years.

CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – Dr Johnson Alalibo has assumed office as the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Cross River State.

Dr Alalibo who resumed on 10th June 2025, took over from Prof. Gabriel Yomere, who served in the state for three years.

Prof. Yomere, on the other hand, has been deployed to Rivers State, where Dr Alalibo was.

It is on record that Alalibo is the only REC who has served in three different states.
