Meet Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, Wife of Prince Bassey Otu, Governor-elect of Cross River State

Who is the wife of Prince Bassey Otu, Governor-elect of Cross River State? Well, ask no more, her name is Reverend (Mrs) Eyoanwan Bassey Otu.

By the Grace of God, Mrs Eyoanwan Bassey Otu will be the First Lady of Cross River State come May 29, 2023, when her husband, Prince Otu will be sworn in as the Governor of Cross River State.

Today, April 10 is her birthday and she has received lots of congratulatory messages from all and sundry, including the All Progressives Party (APC).

CONVERSEER learned that Mrs Otu just retired from the Federal Civil Service after completing her meritorious years in the Service with outstanding records. She retired towards the end of March 2023.

Until her retirement, Mrs Eyoanwan Bassey Otu served as the Deputy General Manager, Planning Research and Statistics, Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority. As a notable Women Mobiliser, accomplished Administrator and refined Technocrat, she is expected to bring her expertise and experience to bear in supporting her husband in the coming administration that will run from May 29, 2023, to May 29, 2027.

“On this auspicious milestone of her birth anniversary, the Party wishes to celebrate and commend her love, loyalty, commitment and unwavering doggedness as well as eulogise her impactful leadership, dexterity and outstanding humanitarian gestures.

“We acknowledge your numerous contributions to the growth and development of our Party and State at large.

“May God bless your new age and years ahead with extravagant grace and remarkable successes.

“Congratulations once again our dear Virtuous Mother, Her Excellency, Rev. Mrs Eyoanwan Bassey Otu”, a statement by Erasmus Ekpang, State Publicity Secretary, APC, Cross River State, on Monday, April 10, 2023, read in part.

Our Reporter further gathered that Mrs Otu is a private person, and has not been active in political activities.

Eyoanwan and Bassey are happily married with children.
