Former ADC to Ex-President Jonathan Moses Jituboh Dies at 54

Yenagoa, Nigeria – Moses Jituboh, former Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has passed away at the age of 54.

He died on Friday after a brief illness, according to sources. Efforts are reportedly underway to conduct an autopsy to ascertain the exact cause of death.

Jituboh served as Jonathan’s ADC during his tenure as Bayelsa State Governor and continued in the role when Jonathan became Vice President and later President of Nigeria.

Following Jonathan’s defeat in the 2015 presidential election, Jituboh resumed regular police duties, rising through the ranks to become Deputy Inspector General (DIG).

He retired from the Nigeria Police Force in 2023, having held key roles, including DIG in charge of the Department of Research and Planning and later the Department of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

The Zone 16 Police Command, headquartered in Bayelsa State, has mourned his loss.

In a statement by its Zonal Public Relations Officer, Emonena Gunn, AIG Adebola Hamzat described Jituboh as a dedicated officer whose contributions to the police force remain indelible.

“He was enlisted into the Police Force on the 10th of June 1994 as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police. His dedication to service and integrity will never be forgotten,” the statement read.

Jituboh’s death has been described as a significant loss to his family, the Nigeria Police Force, and the nation.
