CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – The Cross River State Forestry Commission Chairman, Rt. Hon. George Oben-Etchi, PhD, has extended warm congratulations to Governor Bassey Otu and his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, on the occasion of their second anniversary in office.
In a goodwill message signed by the Chairman on Thursday, the Commission described the Otu-led administration as one marked by “renewed hope, visible results, and purposeful strides across all sectors.”
Oben-Etchi commended the administration for its achievements in education, health, infrastructure, economic revitalisation, human capacity development, as well as urban and rural transformation.
He also noted improvements in the state’s civil service, all of which he said have rekindled hope among the people of Cross River State.

“As we mark this historic occasion, we commemorate your resilience and achievements,” the message read, adding prayers for continued divine protection, wisdom, strength, and success for Governor Otu and his family.
The Forestry Commission’s leadership reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the governor’s vision of a more prosperous Cross River State.
Governor Otu and Deputy Odey were sworn into office on 29th May 2023, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
