Ghana: Ad Hoc Committee Wraps Up Investigation into Vetting Chaos

The seven-member ad hoc committee investigating the chaos during the vetting of President John Mahama’s nominees has concluded its work, despite the withdrawal of Minority MPs from the hearings.

The Minority Caucus, led by Alexander Afenyo-Markin, pulled out of the process, accusing committee chairman Emmanuel Bedzrah of bias and breaching confidentiality. However, the committee continued its public hearings, gathering testimonies from Majority MPs and other witnesses to clarify the controversial events.

The Key Developments include Minority Boycotting The opposition refused to participate, citing a lack of impartiality.

The committee is expected to submit its final report to Parliament soon, outlining findings and possible recommendations to prevent future disruptions.
