President John Dramani Mahama has officially sworn in the newly constituted Armed Forces Council, led by Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as its chairperson.

During the ceremony, the council members reaffirmed their commitment to serving with dedication and integrity, pledging to uphold the trust placed in them.

Their assurance aligns with President Mahama’s call for greater transparency and accountability within the military to enhance national security and stability.

The Armed Forces Council plays a crucial role in ensuring military efficiency, upholding democratic principles, and maintaining accountability to the civilian government.

It is also responsible for advising the President on national defense matters while prioritizing the welfare and discipline of military personnel.
