Barely three months after her appointment, Chief (Mrs) Angela Ogeyi Odey has been suspended as the Director General of Cross River State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).
CONVERSEER learned that Mrs Odey was suspended on Monday, October 30, 2023, by Governor Bassey Otu.
According to a statement signed by Emmanuel Ogbeche, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, the suspension is immediate and she has been directed to hand over to a senior director in the agency.
“The Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu, has ordered the immediate suspension of the Director General of the Cross River State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) Chief (Mrs) Angela Ogeyi Odey.

“The DG is directed to hand over to the most senior director in the Agency before the close of work today, Monday, October 30, 2023.
“During the period of her suspension, she is requested not to be engaged, covertly or overtly, in the administration of the SEMA except otherwise directed by His Excellency,” the statement by Ogbeche read.
CONVERSEER reports that Mrs Odey was appointed SEMA DG by Governor Otu on August 1, 2023.
