Governor Bassey Otu has approved the appointment of Mr Ekong Edet Bocco as the new Chairman of the Cross River State Independent Electoral Commission (CROSIEC).
This follows the resignation of Assoc. Prof. Mike Ushie as Chairman of the Commission and the approval by the State’s House of Assembly for the Governor to dissolve and constitute new members of the electoral body.
According to a statement signed by Nsa Gill, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, on Thursday, Dr Lawrence Edu Esq. was appointed as the Secretary of the Commission while six others were appointed as members.

“Cross River State Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Otu, has approved the under-listed persons to constitute the State Independent Electoral Commission (CROSIEC).
“The appointment is subject to the confirmation from the state House of Assembly,” the statement read in parts.
