Governor Otu appoints SAs on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), TikTok, others

CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, has appointed Special Assistants (SAs) and Senior Special Assistants (SAs) on Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and TikTok management.

Converseer reports that the 15 appointments were contained in a press release by Linus Obogo, Chief Press Secretary/Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, on Thursday, 10th July 2025.

According to the release, the Governor also appointed a Special Adviser on Content Development and Archival, and others.

The appointment of the individuals into key strategic media roles, according to the release, is to enhance the administration’s digital communication and documentation infrastructure.

Below is the full list of the appointment:

1. Okokon E. Bassey – Special Assistant to the Governor on Facebook Management

2. Edward Ntebri Egbelo – Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Facebook Management

3. Peace Eni – Special Assistant to the Governor on Instagram Management

4. Emmanuel Inam – Special Assistant to the Governor on Content Creation

5. Bassey Ita Etim – Special Assistant to the Governor on X Management

6. James Eku – Special Assistant to the Governor on X

7. Joseph Okache – Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Media Advocacy

8. Awade Friday – Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media Advocacy

9. Modlin Philomina Odu – Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media Research and TikTok

10. Beatrice Akpala – Special Adviser on Content Development and Archival

11. Abiola Imani – Special Assistant to the Governor on Media (Technical)

12. Saviour Etim Asuquo – Special Assistant on Audio-Visual Generation

13. Ntor Mercy Irom – Special Assistant on Content Development (Electronic Media)

14. Bassey Ansa Etim – Special Assistant on Content Editing and Production (Electronic Media)

15. Margaret Godwin John – Personal Assistant to the Governor on Media Documentation (Electronic Media)

“His Excellency warmly congratulates all the newly appointed officers and urges them to bring renewed passion, creativity, and a high sense of responsibility to their duties in service of the people and the state.

“All appointments take immediate effect,” the release added.
