Calabar, Nigeria – The Accountant General of Cross River State Dr Glory Tony Effiong, the Special Adviser to Governor Bassey Otu on Project/Programmes, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPPME) Mr Raphael Morphy, the Managing Director of Cross River Tourism Bureau Mr Ojoi Ekpenyong, as well as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Operations Mr Austin Wonoh Ibu, on Saturday morning, November 23, visited the Blake Project at Marina Resort Calabar for inspection.
They were all amazed at the gigantic building project that was being executed by the Blake at the waterside of the resort in less than two months of indicating interest in building a fun hub at the resort.
Recall that Governor Otu, on assumption of office, promised to complete and revive all government projects as well as give the state a facelift that would attract both local and foreign investors.
The litany of projects ongoing across the state and the policies of eco-friendliness exhibited by the Sweetness Governor are now evidentiary to Cross Riverians and Nigerians.
In amusement, the Accountant General, Dr Effiong, said she’s begging to imagine if there will be enough quality hotels in Calabar to accommodate guests who will certainly troop into the state to hold conferences or have fun when the Blake project is completed.
Effiong pleaded with notable Cross Riverians who are into hotel business management to join in and erect more beautiful structures that will accommodate guests who will come to seek fun and leisure in the state.
According to the Accountant General, “Once the Blake rounds up with building the fun hub, it will certainly attract fun lovers who will be trooping into the state in their numbers and as such, beautiful hotels are needed for our esteemed guests,” she added.
The Special Adviser on DPPME Mr Raphael Morphy, said Governor Bassey Otu has continued to stun him with his policy drive and programmes, which are now attractive to investors.
Morphy, who led the team around the project site, said, “Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu has so far proven to his people that he meant it when he said he would revive and set Cross River State to its known glory.”
The Managing Director of Cross River Tourism Bureau Mr Ojoi Ekpenyong said the contractor handling the project had given his assurances that the project will be completed and ready for use in three weeks from now.
