Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have reportedly k!lled two persons and abducted a pharmacy proprietor and two of his sales boys at Agyaragu in Jenkwe development area, Obi LGA of Nasarawa state.

The gunmen invaded ‘Emmy Gold Pharmacy Nigeria Limited’ on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at about 8:44 pm, shooting sporadically and gunning down the a young lady before whisking the victims away to an unknown destination.

It was gathered that a young man from Gidiye community was also k!lled by a stray bullet during the attack.

A source who confirmed the incident to the Vanguard said the operation lasted for about an hour without any security interference.

“The gunmen were well armed. Their shooting scared everybody. They forced the owner of the pharmacy and two of his boys into the bush,” the source said.

He disclosed further that efforts by some youths in the community to stop the assailants from carrying out their act were resisted with heavy shootings.

One resident, Jonah Yakubu, lamented that Agyaragu community is living in fear, as the frequency and brazenness of kidnapping incidents continue to escalate.

The demand for ransom has become a recurring theme, with families and loved ones being forced to pay exorbitant sums to secure the release of abducted relatives.

He called on the Nasarawa State governor to increase security presence in Agyaragu community and surrounding areas.

He also appealed to security agencies to implement effective measures to prevent kidnapping and ensure the safe release of abducted individuals.
