CALABAR – The lawmaker representing Akpabuyo/Bakassi/Calabar South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Joseph Bassey, has congratulated Prof. Francisca Bassey on her appointment as the new Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS).
Hon. Bassey also commended the State Governor, Sen. Bassey Otu, for finding Prof. Bassey worthy of piloting the affairs of the institution.

“During her appointments as the Director of GSS and later Director of CES both in UNICAL, she did exceptionally well to advance the development of education and research in the institution,” he said.
The lawmaker extended his best wishes to her and expressed the optimism that her tenure will be marked by outstanding achievements.
Similarly, Hon. Bassey also congratulated Dr Fidelis Ugbo on his appointment as the Pro-Chancellor of UNICROSS.
He described Ugbo’s appointment as well deserving, noting that he will bring his wealth of experience to bear on his new job.
Hon. Bassey called on staff, alumni members and students of the institution to give the new VC and Pro-Chancellor the support they need to move the institution forward.
