Nigerian content creator, Debo Adedayo aka Mr. Macaroni, has declared he would always speak up against oppression of the people and against bad governance in the country.
Mr. Macaroni in a post shared on his official X page (formerly Twitter), said has been fighting for the rights of people, even before he rose to fame.
However, the content creator cautioned that other celebrities should not be held to the same standards as him, especially when some people are not accountable.
He wrote: ‘‘I would never stop speaking up against the oppression of the people and against bad governance. That is what I have always stood against, even before fame. But please do not hold other celebrities to the same standard, especially when the people themselves are not accountable.
Mr. Macaroni made these remarks days after he berated the National Youth Corps Service (NYSC) for intimidating a corps member who lamented the current economic hardship in Nigeria under President Bola Tinubu.
A corps member, Ushie Uguamaye, recently voiced her displeasure with Nigeria’s worsening economic circumstances and how they are impacting her in a video posted on her TikTok via @talktoraye.
She lamented that the NYSC programme has not been helpful because she has been spending more than her monthly allowances.
But some hours later, the girl posted another video on the social media platform where she claimed that NYSC officials were sending her threatening text messages.
