Ghanaian actor, farmer, and entrepreneur John Kofi Setor Dumelo has been appointed as the Deputy Minister-designate for Food and Agriculture in Ghana.
Dumelo, currently serving as the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, has been a vocal advocate for agriculture and youth involvement in the sector.
Born on February 3, 1984, Dumelo began his education at Christ the King School in Accra before attending Achimota School, where he was an active member of the Drama Club. He pursued Civil Engineering at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and later studied at GIMPA’s School of Public Service and Governance.
Dumelo started his acting career in the early 1990s, appearing in the 1992 movie Baby Thief while still a student at Christ the King School. Beyond acting, he has dedicated himself to both crop and animal farming, consistently promoting agriculture as a viable career path for Ghanaian youth.
