Kidnappers k!ll APC national director after collecting N90m ransom

Family, friends and staffers of the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have been thrown into a state of mourning following the news of the m8rder of its Director of Administration, Dr. Abdulraif Adekunle Adeniji, by kidnappers, on Thursday, April 10.

 

LIB reported that Dr Adeniji was abducted on January 26, 2025 by gunmen wielding AK-47 rifles in the Chikakore area of Kubwa, within the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

 

He was abducted alongside his brother and his wife who was immediately shot d3ad due to her inability to keep up pace with them while on their way to an unknown destination.

 

Adeniji was on a visit to his brother’s residence when the gunmen struck.

 

According to the Guardian Newspapers, the kidnappers k!lled Adeniji after collecting the sum of about N90 million ransom.

 

APC’s Deputy Director of Administration, Ubagha Abel, in a statement on Thursday, April 9, disclosed that the party secretariat will remain closed till Monday as a result of the unfortunate development

 

“The National Secretary has approved the closure of the National Secretariat from all party/work activities with immediate effect till Monday, April 14, 2025,” Abel said.

 

“The decision was made after he had received the news of the sad demise of the Director of Administration Late Hon. Abdulraif Adekunle Adeniji, PhD.

 

“You are advised to use the mourning period for sober reflection and prayers for the family and loved ones. May the soul of our beloved Director rest in peace Amen”

 

“All flags at the party Secretariat are to fly at half mast throughout the period of mourning.”
