Manchester United Set for Major Summer Clear-Out, with 10 or More Players Expected to Depart

Manchester United are reportedly preparing for a huge clear-out this summer with at least 10 players leaving. The club’s new ownership and manager Ruben Amorim are looking to overhaul the squad after another disappointing campaign. The Manchester Evening News claims United are looking to permanently sell the trio of Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho. All three players are currently on loan at other clubs after falling out of favour at Old Trafford. And the money made from those sales will be put towards signing a new proven goalscorer. Chelsea have an obligation to buy Sancho for 20-25m but it has been revealed they could pay United 5million in compensation in order to avoid doing so. Veteran midfielder Casemiro will also be put up for sale as United look to raise funds for new signings. Fellow experienced players Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton are expected to announce their retirements at the end of the season while Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof are set to be released.  The Red Devils are also believed to be in the market for a new winger with a host of attacking talents set to depart. Speaking earlier this month, Amorim admitted some United players are already aware that their time at the club is coming to an end. He said: ‘Everybody understands that in football sometimes you stay, sometimes you have to move on. If I know how to explain it, I will do so because I like to be clear. ‘I was a player and like to use that experience when you are honest with someone, they can take it. In the beginning maybe it is hard but they will understand. ‘I’m quite honest with my players and sometimes they know they have to move on at the end of the season. ‘We can talk about that in the end now there are still a lot of games to play. But that is clear and not a difficult situation.’  Sir Jim Ratcliffe named six big-money Man United signings that are either ‘not good enough or overpaid’ in an interview with Gary Neville recently. Jadon Sancho, Casemiro, Antony, Rasmus Hojlund, Lisandro Martinez, and Andre Onana were all outed by the Ineos owner as he laid bare the clubs overspending on players in recent years.Ratcliffe said: This summer, we will buy Antony, well buy Sancho, well buy Casemiro, well buy Martnez, well buy Hojlund, well buy Onana, and theyre all about 17m each. If we buy nobody were buying those players. Its not a light switch (that can be turned off). These are all things from the past, whether we like it or not, we’ve inherited those things and have to sort that out. For Sancho, who now plays for Chelsea and we pay half his wages, we’re paying 17m to buy him in the summer. Some are not good enough and some probably are overpaid, but for us to mould the squad that we are fully responsible for, and accountable for, will take time. It takes time for us to move away from the past into a new place in the future. We’ve got this period of transformation where we move from the past to the future. There are some great players in the squad as we know, the captain is a fabulous footballer. We definitely need Bruno (Fernandes), he’s a fantastic footballer. The post Manchester Unitedreportedly preparing for a huge clear-out this summer with at least 10 players leaving appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
