Naira’s Decline Against the Dollar Persists in the Black Market Amidst Absence of Official CBN Rates

The Naira continued to slump against the dollar at the parallel foreign exchange market on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

However, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has yet to update the official rates hours after the market closed.

At the black market, the Naira lost N5 against the dollar to trade at N1,590/$1 as against the N1,585/$1 it traded the previous day.

The naira lost N5 against the British Pound to trade at N2,025/£1 as against the previous day’s rate of N2,020/£1.

The Canadian Dollar still held steady at N1,200/CA$1.

The naira slumped against the Euro to trade at ₦1,695/€1 as against the previous day’s rate of ₦1,690/€1 representing a loss of N5 for the local currency.
