The Namibian government has officially refuted circulating rumors claiming that President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah ordered the deportation of over 500 American citizens.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the presidency dismissed the claims as completely baseless, stating that the misinformation appears to be aimed at damaging the president’s reputation and creating diplomatic confusion.

The false reports, which gained traction online, alleged that the supposed deportations were linked to visa reciprocity concerns. Government officials, however, confirmed that no such directive has been issued and no deportation process of this nature is taking place.

The presidency clarified that all immigration matters are handled through appropriate legal and diplomatic channels, in line with Namibia’s established procedures and policies.

The Namibian government reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining strong and respectful ties with the United States, stressing its adherence to international standards and the importance of mutual respect in visa-related policies.

Authorities also urged citizens, media outlets, and digital content creators to act responsibly by fact-checking with official sources before spreading any information that could cause unnecessary panic or harm international relations.
