ABUJA (CONVERSEER) – On Wednesday, 16th July 2025, the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) released a statement on the recruitment process into the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Federal Fire Service (FFS) and CDCFIB.

According to the statement, the problem with registration on the portal is being fixed to ensure a hitch-free registration for all applicants.

Truly, when the portal was first opened, it was difficult to access the site, let alone register, but be assured that this guide will show you how to register with ease. Please, read to the end so you won’t miss out on any step.

STATEMENT ON CDCFIB RECRUITMENT PROCESS

“CDCFIB: We feel your pains because we understand, and deeply regret the inconveniences and existing limitations on the course of applying on our new recruitment portal for your desired service.

“From uneasy, redirected gateway and limited portal access to glitches and missing details on your final printouts, we are aware of it all and assure that you are not alone, all will be fixed, and these protocol errors will be entirely adjusted and corrected.

“The situation will be timely and swiftly handled, and as usual you can continue to dream because a glitch free portal will be available soon, we are Committed to ensuring that.

How To Apply

  • Log on to: https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng/
  • Click on “Start Application” for new applicants
  • Click on “Retrieve Application” for those who have already started the process

New Application

For a new application, if you click on “Start Application“, it will redirect you to a new tab/window with a warning that says, “recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng doesn’t support a secure connection with HTTPS.” Don’t worry, that’s what the board said it’s trying to fix. It also says, “Attackers can see and change information you send or receive from the site,” and “It’s safest to visit this site later if you’re using a public network.”

Don’t worry, the site is safe, it’s just an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) issue which is being resolved. Click on “Continue to site” to continue and register with ease. The next tab/window is secured and does not have such warnings.

  • Your National Identification Number (NIN) and Phone Number will serve as your unique application ID.
  • No payment is required to submit this application.

How to Complete Your Application

  • Ensure you have a valid National Identification Number (NIN)
  • Gather all required documents (see list below)
  • Fill in all required fields accurately
    Review your information before submission
  • Submit before the deadline: August 4, 2025

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nigerian citizen by birth
  • Age range: 18 to 35 years
  • Minimum height: 1.65m for males, 1.60m for females
  • Physically and mentally fit
  • No criminal record

Tick the box that says, “I have read, understood, and agree to comply with all instructions and eligibility criteria mentioned above,” and click on “Proceed to selection.”

NOTE: You may still encounter the SSL issue, don’t worry, always click on “Continue to site.”

Position Selection

Select your preferred agency and position

  • Click on “Select Agency” to choose an agency
  • Click on “Select Qualification” to choose a qualification

Available Positions

Based on your selected agency and qualification, the available positions will be shown after your selections.

Click on “Select Position” and then click on “Proceed to Identification” to continue.

Always ignore the site security issues and click on “Continue to site.”

Applicant Identification

Provide your identification details

  • Here you will enter your 11-digit National Identification Number (NIN) and Phone Number to proceed.

Again, you will encounter a site security issue with the warning, “The information you’re about to submit is not secure Because this form is being submitted using a connection that’s not secure, your information will be visible to others.” Click on “Send anyway” to continue to the next step.

You may encounter a warning like, “504 Gateway Time-out.” Keep refreshing your browser by dragging from the top of your screen downward and releasing for mobile phone users or clicking on the refresh button of your browser for Computer, tablet and mobile phone users.

If you encounter the following error, “405: An unexpected error has occurred,” click on “Go Back Home” and re-enter your details and try again.
