Nigerian Authorities Disrupt Smuggling Operations, Apprehend Two Drug Lords

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has thwarted attempts by two drug kingpins to smuggle heroin consignments into the country.

One of the suspects, who holds dual identities with both Nigerian and Sierra Leonean passports under different names, was confirmed to have ingested illicit drugs after a body scan.

He was subsequently placed under excretion observation, during which he expelled a total of 62 wraps of heroin in five excretions, weighing 1.348 kilograms.

The suspect reportedly alternated between his two identities to facilitate drug trafficking operations across Thailand, Pakistan, Iran, and West African countries.

The second suspect, James Herbert Chinoso, 48, was arrested at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, upon arrival from Madagascar via Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on an Ethiopian Airlines flight.

A body scan revealed illicit substances in his system, leading to his placement under excretion observation. He later expelled 63 wraps of heroin, weighing a total of 909 grams.

Meanwhile, the NDLEA reported additional successes in its nationwide anti-narcotics crackdown, with several suspects apprehended in Kano and Jigawa states.
