North Korean President Kim Jong Un to open beach resort to boost tourism

PYONGYANG (CONVERSEER) – North Korean President Kim Jong Un has concluded plans to open a beach resort this summer to boost tourism.

According to reports, the resort is along a 2.5-mile stretch of beach and can host 20,000 visitors. It was completed six years after the target date.

The resort is on the east coast of North Korea and features hotels, restaurants, shopping malls along with a water park.

Wonsan Kalma is near where Kim grew up and is where the North Korean elite have their private villas.

The resort will likely be opened to North Koreans initially and eventually to Chinese and Russian tourists.

It’s unclear if North Korea will ever open it to the rest of the world.
