TEL AVIV (CONVERSEER) – Over 20 people have been injured as new Iranian missiles struck major cities in Israel on Sunday.
This is coming in hours after the United States airstrikes targeted several of Iran’s key nuclear sites.
Affected Israeli major cities include Tel Aviv and Jerusalem as air raid sirens blared across the country.
The Israeli military confirmed the launch of Iranian missiles and activated its air defence systems in response.
According to Israeli emergency services, at least 20 people have been reported injured. Police confirmed debris from intercepted missiles had fallen in areas near the northern port city of Haifa, where emergency crews were dispatched to the scene.
Iran’s missile barrage also struck areas in Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Beersheba, cities that have frequently come under fire since hostilities began.
The strike is coming in barely 24 hours after Israel took down three Iranian F-14 fighter jets.
Israel maintains strict censorship over military operations, but authorities have acknowledged at least 50 missile impacts across the country since 13th June, with the death toll reaching 25.
The latest escalation comes after U.S. President Donald Trump authorised strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities at Isfahan, Fordow, and Natanz, claiming the sites were “completely and fully obliterated.”
Iran has condemned the U.S. assault, warning of “everlasting consequences.” However, both Iran’s National Nuclear Safety System Centre and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report no spike in radiation levels following the attacks.
