The Gombe State Police Command has arrested two deadly and notorious suspected armed robbers who specialised in snatching motorcycles.
Spokesperson of the command, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, March 28, 2025, said the suspects, Daniel Hamma, 36, of Wuro-Juli quarters and Garba Usman alias Mali, 32, of Local Gona village via Akko LGA, confessed to k!lling five motorcyclists and snatching their bikes.
“On the 26/03/2025 at about 2230hrs a distress call was received that Armed Robbery incident occurred at near High Court Complex bypass Road Gombe where the robbers blocked the road, attacked and inflicted various degree of serious injury on one Hamza Billa ‘M’ aged 28yrs of Kundulum Quarters via Akko LGA, Gombe State and thereafter, snatched his Boxer Motorcycle, red in Colour,” the statement read.
“On receipt of the report Police Patrol Team led by DCO Pantami SP Alhaji Isah Dabo drafted to the scene, took the victim to Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe for medical attention in unison the suspects were tracked, chased and arrested Along Bypass Highway. However, the said Boxer motorcycle, red in colour with Reg No. AKK 413VC was recovered from the above-mentioned suspects.
“Furthermore, during the course of investigation a search was executed in the house and premises of the suspects were another Boxer Motorcycle with Blood stains, Motorcycle spare parts, Two Motorcycle Number Plate and some Police accouterments was recovered in the house of the Second suspect by name Garba Usman “M” alias Mali.
“Upon interrogation, the said suspects confessed to have been responsible for the 1st March, 2025 Armed Robbery, Culpable Homicide incident and theft of Motorcycle, which was recorded at the same spot, were the victim was slaughtered and k!lled and one of the Number Plate recovered correspond with the said victim Motorcycle.
“Investigation is ongoing as the suspects confessed to being responsible for k!lling, maiming and snatching of about five victims and their motorcycle.”
