Police operatives in Bauchi have killed two suspected bandits in the Gwana district of Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state.

The spokesman for the state police command, Ahmed Wakil told journalists on Wednesday in Bauchi that operatives also recovered arms during the operation.

He added that the operatives attached to the Alkaleri Divisional Police Headquarters in collaboration with hunters conducted tactical operations to enhance security in the Gwana District and surrounding border regions with Taraba, Plateau, and Gombe States.

“The team encountered suspected bandits during surveillance in the Dajin Madan Forest and neutralised two while others escaped with gunshot wounds.

“One AK-49 rifle and nine rounds of live ammunition were recovered in the operation,” the spokesman said.
