As the climax to another exciting Champions League season approaches on Saturday, a new study by OddsMatrix, the empowering sportsbook platform provider, has revealed which of the two finalists are the most influential off the pitch.
The study analysed how many followers PSG and Inter Milan’s top stars have, revealing that PSG’s first team squad have a combined 63 million Instagram followers, compared to 47 million followers for Inter.
On average, PSG’s players have 3.5 million followers on Instagram. Inter Milan players however have 73% less, averaging 2 million followers.
OddsMatrix’s research also named Achraf Hakimi, Ousmane Dembélé, and Lautaro Martínez as the most influential Champions League finalists off the pitch.

Despite moving away from their focus on big name signings such as Mbappe, Messi, and Neymar, PSG still have a very influential presence off the pitch. PSG’s 18 first team players have a combined Instagram following of 63 million. By comparison, Inter Milan’s 23 first team players have just under 47 million total followers. PSG’s total following is 35% higher than Inter’s.
PSG also have a much higher average following per player. The average number of followers for PSG’s first team players is 3.5 million. In contrast, the average for Inter Milan players is 2 million. The average for PSG players is 73% higher, showing their dominance in popularity off the pitch.

The research from OddsMatrix also revealed the most followed players that will be part of Saturday’s Champions League Final. PSG’s Achraf Hakimi is the most followed player between the two finalists. The Moroccan international has 20.1 million followers.
The second most followed player on Instagram is Ballon d’Or contender Ousmane Dembélé. Dembélé is PSG’s top scorer in this season’s Champions League with 8 goals from 14 games, and has 15.4 million Instagram followers.
The most followed Inter Milan player is Lautaro Martínez. Inter’s captain is the third most followed player from the two teams with 11.9 million followers.
Also in the top five most followed players are PSG captain Marquinhos, and Inter Milan forward, Mehdi Taremi. PSG’s Brazilian Centre Back has 6.8 million followers. While Taremi isn’t a regular starter for Inter, the Iranian striker has a strong social media presence with 6 million followers on Instagram.
Despite PSG having the most followers overall, and a significantly higher average following per player, six of the top 10 most followed players play for Inter Milan. Additionally, 13 of the 25 players with over 1 million followers play for the Italian club.
