Real Betis sign Chinyere Kalu from Nasarawa Amazons

Spanish side Real Betis Feminine has signed Falconets star Chinyere Kalu from Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) side Nasarawa Amazons.

CONVERSEER gathered that Betis’ website confirmed Kalu’s signing after she signed a two-year deal at her unveiling on Thursday.

The 18-year-old, delighted to team up with Betis, said, “Thank you so much. I’m so excited. I’m happy. I’m very much excited to be here in Real Betis.

“I had a chance to speak with my teammates and my coach; they are so friendly to me. They welcomed me well and I’m very happy about that.

“I’m a creative midfielder and I’m here to support the team to give my best and to make sure we get there.”

Kalu was part of the Falconets squad at the 2022 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.

She made an appearance as a substitute in a group-stage match against Canada.

Before joining Betis, she also played for Martins White Dove FC, Osun Babes FC, Rivers Angels FC, and Nasarawa Amazons in Nigeria.

Kalu will join the likes of Rasheedat Ajibade, Monday Gift, Peace Efih, and Chidnima Okeke in the Spanish Feminine League.

She will be hoping to make her debut for Betis when they take on Granada on Saturday.
