Rivers community protests forceful takeover of land by Wike

The people of Oginigba Community in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on thursday, 6th June 2024, stormed the State Government House to protest over an alleged forceful takeover of their land by the former Governor, Barr. Nyesom Wike

According to the people, the land where the HyperCity at Slaughter (Trans-Amadi) is built on, was forcefully taken from them

Carrying placards with various inscriptions, the community members demanded that the Rivers State Government revoke the land allocation and respect their rights to their ancestral land.

According to NigerDelta Insider, they say the former Governor and his associates cannot forcefully take what belongs to the community.
