Senegalese President Calls for Unity and National Cohesion During Korité Message

Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has called for solidarity, unity, and national cohesion after participating in the Korité prayer, marking the end of Ramadan.

In his message, he reaffirmed his commitment to serving Senegal with loyalty, rigor, and humility to meet the legitimate expectations of the people.

Faye also praised religious and traditional leaders, particularly the Imam Ratib of the Great Mosque of Dakar, for their role in preserving social cohesion and ensuring national stability.

“Your prayers are a bulwark for the entire nation, a breath of peace for our living together,” he said, acknowledging their contributions.

With Senegalese Muslims celebrating Korité on March 31, though some observed Eid al-Fitr on March 30, the president stressed the need for national harmony.

“Senegal needs all its strength to move forward in harmony. Let us continue to build a nation of peace, fraternity, and equity,” he concluded.
