Seven Doors’ lead stars sweeps 11th AMVCA Best Actor, Actress awards

LAGOS (CONVERSEER) – The supernatural Netflix series Seven Doors had a triumphant night at the 11th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), winning three major categories: Best Lead Actor for Femi Adebayo, Best Lead Actress for Chioma Chukwuka, and Best Music Score for Tolu Obanro.

The show, centered on the haunting tale of a cursed monarch, captivated fans and voters alike at the star-studded ceremony held in Lagos, Nigeria.

Hosted by IK Osakioduwa, the event celebrated excellence in African film and television across 28 categories, including the newly introduced Best Music Score.

Among other big winners, Lisabi: The Uprising, a historical epic led by Lateef Adedimeji, won Best Indigenous Language Film (West Africa), Best Art Direction, and Best Makeup.

Despite its impressive haul, the coveted Best Movie award went to Freedom Way by Blessing Uzzi — a gripping action thriller tackling corruption and youth oppression in Nigeria.

Industry veterans Nkem Owoh and Sani Mu’azu received Lifetime Achievement Awards, while Kayode Kasum was honoured with the Trailblazer Award.

Musical performances from Nigerian Idol winner Chima, Johnny Drille, and rising stars Fido, Kunmie, and Serotonin added flair to the glamorous evening.
