SWAN constitutes new electoral committee in Cross River

Calabar, Cross River State – The State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association (SWAN) has constituted the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria Electoral Committee (SWANECO).

The Electoral Committee includes Comrade Eme Offiong, State Chairman of Correspondent Chapel as Chairman of SWANECO.

Other members of the Electoral Committee include Comrade Idongesit Inyang, also of Correspondent Chapel, and Comrade Maxwell Effiong.

The Chairman of the state chapter of SWAN, Comrade Mike Abang disclosed that the process of the SWAN election has commenced and that any interested member should contact SWANECO and that the election is open to all members who are financially up-to-date in their payment of SWAN revalidation.

In her response, the Chairman SWANECO Comrade Eme Offiong revealed that their mandate is to conduct a free, fair and credible election without rancour.

Comrade Offiong disclosed that they will work with the National Chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria and promised to rejuvenate a new chapter of the state council of SWAN that will be viable promising to deliver on the mandate given to her.

She also pledged to work in accordance with the directives and guidelines of the SWAN constitution.

The electoral committee has three weeks to discharge their assignments.
